Elementary School
Cluster Grouping
Please click here for a full explanation of what Cluster Grouping is and how it works. Cluster teachers will meet regularly with Mrs. Levinson to discuss ways to best meet the needs of their shared gifted & talented students.
Gifted & Talented Classes
Identified students will meet with Mrs. Levinson in her room several times per week in small groups. During these periods, instructional practices are driven by student interests and developmental needs. While in the G&T classroom, the students drive instruction, and Mrs. Levinson acts as the facilitator. Third graders will develop research, note-taking, technical, and presentation skills that will raise the bar for their future projects and facilitate independent studies in the upper grades. Fourth and fifth graders will get the chance to dive deep into advanced subject matter that interests them. They will learn to develop their research into authentic and relevant products that vary greatly according to students' preferences and chosen subject matter. To see some examples of the student work, check out the "What's New" tab.
Enrichment Clubs
At the Elementary School, we will also be offering a wide variety of mini-courses during students' lunch/recess periods. These fun and exciting experiences will be organized and designed by Mrs. Levinson, Miss Carabetta, and Mrs. Recco. The teachers will provide multiple weekly opportunities for third, fourth and fifth grade students to explore a topic of interest, challenge themselves, and have fun with their peers.

Weekly Challenges
Any students motivated to challenge their minds are encouraged to participate in Mrs. Levinson's weekly challenges. A new Brain Buster challenge and Word of the Week will be posted for each grade level every Friday. Paper copies are always available from the CHALLENGE YOURSELF bulletin board in the cafeteria, and can also be accessed online. To keep kids motivated, Mrs. Levinson keeps track of how many challenges each student completes and maintains a Leaderboard for each grade level. Students can also earn prizes!
